Two Ways

There are Two Ways to Live and Two Ways to Die!

There are Two Ways to live! One way is to live a life that is fully pleasing and Right before the Lord!

The other way is to live a life that is seemingly right to man.

(Proverbs 16:25 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.)

There are also Two Ways to Die. One way is a way that offers Hope! The other way is a way that offers No Hope!

The Way of Hope is Jesus! He offers you the hope of Heaven & the Hope of Eternal Life! Faith in him turns your Hope into an absolute Assurance!

The Way of Man (your own way) offers you NO HOPE! No hope of heaven, no hope of eternal life, and with the risk that there really is a Hell to shun!

And if there is a Hell to shun; your choice in life and death is really a gamble that there is no Heaven to gain!

How do you want to live? How do you want to die? Do you want to live life possessing a lively Hope or do you really want to risk dying without Hope?

Romans 8:24 For we are saved by Hope: (faith in Jesus)

What Does the Biblical Record Convey to us Concerning UFO’s?

What does the Biblical Record Convey to us concerning today’s UFO (UAP’s) phenomenon? (Part 1)

In any subject concerning mankind; the Bible is the absolute truth in any area that it offers information.

The Bible is Gods word; and of course he is the master planner, architect and creating engineer of all things!

John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

So if UFO’s do indeed exist; God had to have been involved in the process someway, somehow, either directly, or indirectly by beings that he created.

Genesis 1 teaches that God created the heavens and the earth before He even created the sun, the moon, or the stars.

Then, in Genesis 2:1-4 God concludes the creation project by adding that the “host” of the heavens (plural) were also brought into being. Then in verse 4, God imparts something very important; “these are the generations of the heavens and of the earth.”

The word “host” here refers to celestial servants, or angels. The word “generations” utilized here refers to the descending order or history of the overall finished creation project.

Thus, if UFO’s are a real technological creation, they must have as their designer one of the following:

1-God

2-Angels

3-Man

However, there is one other very notable possibility. A hybrid race of humanoids that descended from the cohabitation of fallen angels with human women.

In Biblical and secular history, these beings are known as Nephilim, or giants, or Titans.

The history of the Nephilim is recorded in Genesis chapter six, and their renown wickedness and legendary technological exploits in our world was the reason for Gods judgment upon the world in the days of Noah’s flood.

So, it is only from one of these four sources that UFO’s, or other hyper-dimensional travelers in flying craft could possibly emanate.

Albeit, Our modern world today is preoccupied with the tantalizing prospects of yet another possibility for UFO’s; extra-terrestrials.”

But in I Corinthians 15:39-40, the great Creator of mankind, the heavens, angels and all things specifically states that there are only two types of created beings: “celestial and terrestrial.”

That proclamation from God does not allow for the existence of extra-terrestrials!

An extra-terrestrial is defined as a physical human-like being from outside the earth and perhaps even beyond our galaxy.

The whole UFOology subject coupled with the various theories of evolution, transpermia, reincarnation, ancient aliens and celestial gods; lends much excitement to those who simply cannot accept the word of God as the truth.

So, back to our original question: Do UFO’s actually exist? Are there visitations to our planet by technologically advanced civilizations?

The Bible is actually replete with documentation about ultra-dimensional visitors to earth. It also records a few instances of “out of this world flying craft of a supernatural technology.”

For instance, the prophet Ezekiel conveys his firsthand impression of a flying craft. Poor Ezekiel had never even seen an airplane, let alone a UFO!

He described a great whirlwind burning with fire that could move about in any direction at tremendous speeds. He further described its shiny exterior as having Omni-dimensional wheels within its structural design.

He concluded his narrative by identifying the flying craft with its accompanying Hosts: “it had the appearance and likeness of almighty God.”

So, yes, there is Biblical evidence supporting the idea that God sometimes utilizes a inter-dimensional flying technology unknown to mankind.

God probably doesn’t have to use technological flying craft, since he is omnipresent, but there is every indication that God often accords Omni-dimensional, hyper-dimensional heavenly craft technology to his angels!

What Does the Biblical Record Convey to us Concerning Today’s UFO (UAP) phenomena? (Part 2)

In part one of this essay, I reviewed the fact the UFO’s; if they truly exist, can only have 4 potential sources of utilization.

1-God

2-Angelic Beings

3-Human Beings

4-Nephilim Hybrids

Another point was that the prospect of UFO type hyper-dimensional flying craft could not be the inventions of extra-terrestrials.

In this part, I shall review what the Biblical Record reveals concerning the Celestial beings that inhabit the heavens.

First, we need to recognize that the Bible conveys the fact that there are three levels of the Heavens.

A-The first Heaven is simply the sky, or expanse of the arch of space around the Earth itself.

B-The second degree level of Heaven is the vast, stretched out expanse of the cosmos; which we commonly call outer space.

C-The third realm of Heaven is the place of Gods throne, which is beyond and outside of the total creation. Isaiah 14:3 describes this heavenly place as far above the stars in the sides of the ultimate north.

The subject of UFO’s and ultra-dimensional travel ultimately comes down to (if not extra-terrestrial) the prospect of Angelic transportation systems.

Could it be possible that celestial beings are involved in the phenomena of UFO’s?

To answer this question, we must again look into the Biblical record for clues. Therein, we readily find that Angels have often visited our world.

This research however must delve deeply into the nature and purposes of the Angels; the holy ones and particularly the Fallen ones!

While the Bible clearly denotes the Divine visits of the angels Gabriel and Michael to the earth, the Bible also records the visitation of “Fallen Angels” to the Earth.

The first intervention of a Fallen Angel centers on Lucifer; who came into Eden and stole away the terrestrial dominion-ship of mankind over the earth and also the second level of Heaven.

Jesus even alluded to the fall of the great Rebel in Luke 10:18, where he describes Satan as falling like lightning from Heaven.

This epic account undoubtedly resulted from the hyper-dimensional War that he ignited in Heaven. (Rev. 12:7-8) That war involves a contingent of 1/3 of the created angels of Heaven joining Satan in his campaign against the God of Heaven.

So then, we must ascertain what is the power of Satan these fallen comrades, not only on a spiritual level; but also in regards to their tactics in warfare and the technology they might have in carrying forth that war.

Ephesians 6:12 reveals that the “fallen enemy” has exceptional powers in the “high places,” a reference to the first and second levels of Heaven.

Ephesians 2:2 describes Satan, the old dominion usurper, as being the “prince of the power of the air.”

The word for prince of the air utilized here is the word “aero, archon” which denotes that he has “mastery” over aeronautical space.

Furthermore, Isaiah 24:21 depicts Satan and his angelic-demon rebels as the “high ones” that occupy the area that we know as our cosmos.

In II Kings 6:16-17 Elisha was permitted a rare opportunity to visibly look upon the angels (both good & bad) in the unseen world. Elisha had seen “chariots of fire” before and knew that the angels of the Lord traveled about in ultra-supernatural aircraft.

Therefore, we can easily find support in the Bible for the prospect of angels, or celestial beings (good and bad) having the capability of flying!

Next; the question becomes; do angels utilize a much higher technology than is known to mankind for traversing our universe and even penetrating more realms than just our earthly dimension?

What Does the Biblical Record Convey to us Concerning Today’s UFO (UAP) phenomena? (Part 3)

Is it just a coincidence that 20 and 21st century mankind is heavily invested into reconnecting to the gods of the past; or what some philosophers prefer to call a reconnection to our heavenly ancestors?

Our Modern “anti-Biblical God” society is desperately searching the heavens for ET’s and hopefully achieving a cosmic quantum leap into a New World Order.

The modern UFO phenomena began, interestingly enough, in 1947. That was the year that the UN mandated that a place for a Jewish homeland be established in ancient Israel.

This epic turn of worldly events seemed to cause an explosion in UFO sightings. It has further mystified the military powers around the world, causing each nation to be cautious in their public analysis of these unexplainable flying super-high tech other world craft.

Recently, one by one, nations around the world are divulging what they know or don’t know about UFO’s, or UAP’s as they are now described.

It’s almost as if they are preparing the public and the whole world for an extraordinary event.

The Bible may actually record just such a dramatic event of supernatural proportions that the leaders of the world in the Last Days will cooperate in bringing to pass.

II Thessalonians 2: 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

9. Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

10. And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie

As he always has in his epic warfare against God, Satan is plotting how to counter Gods plans for this world.

Since God has miraculously returned a remnant of Jews to the ancient Promised Land, Satan realizes that he must logistically prepare to use all the forces under his control to upstage Gods plans to return his Son, Jesus Christ to the world.

Included in Satan’s warfare tactics is a strategy to “deceive the whole world” into aligning with him by causing the world to accept his Anti-Christ, otherwise known as the “seed of the serpent.”

Numerous Bible proclamations depict the fascinating powers and miracles that Satan will succeed in foisting upon an unsuspecting world.

It is becoming increasingly apparent to me that Satan and his angels are using “other worldly” technology, not only to travel to earth, but also to redeploy for the same tactics he utilized in the Days of Noah!

Matthew 24:37 specifically compares the world in the time of Noah to be repeated in the Last Days of this age.

This strategy is similar to the tactics employed to produce the ancient Nephilim, significantly using his angels and demons, and perhaps their aeronautical and biological exploits to seduce the world into welcoming a Cosmic Christ; as God!

The “Great Delusion” could well involve the “high ones” preparing the way and perpetrating the actual event of the arrival of Antichrist.

Soul Food (part II)

Soul Food

Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

After fashioning all the material components of the body that God created for Adam, God then breathed the breath of life into Adam, causing Adam to become a "living soul." Scripture nowhere records God performing this action again.

When God reached his crowning creative act; the formation of human life; His phrasing changed from the impersonal “let there be” to the deliberate and intimate expression, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.”

Having God’s image means we humans were fashioned to resemble and represent God on the earth. Only humans are uniquely created in the image and likeness of God, distinguishing us from all other earthly beings. We were made like Him so that we could be in a relationship with Him.

This special status of being made “in Gods image” (Latin: imago dei) refers to the immaterial (spirit, heart, mind & soul) part of humanity. It sets human beings apart from the animal world, and fits them for the dominion God intended for them to have over the earth and enables them to commune with their Maker.

So then, Souls are inherently engineered and designed by God for immortality and relationships! Humanity was created in righteousness and perfect innocence, a reflection of God’s holiness. God reviewed all that He had made (humanity included) and called it “very good.” But, something happened that changed all that was good, and it seriously affected every living soul ever since.

Job 12:10 In whose hand is the Soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.

Since our very Soul is in essence in the focus of the supernatural battle between our Creator and the Destroyer; it’s only logical that we learn more about the Soul.

Soul Food Points:

Point #1 God is the creator of all Souls. He creates each Soul at the moment of bodily conception. (Psalms 139:13-16 For thou hast possessed my reins, thou hast covered me in my Mother’s womb. I will praise thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made, marvelous are thy works, and that my Soul knoweth well.

Point #2 As the lone Creator of all Souls, God is the owner of all Souls! (Ezekiel 18:4 Behold, all Souls are mine; as the soul of the Father, so also the soul of the Son is mine.

Point #3 Every soul that sinneth is subject to die! (Ezekiel 18:4 the soul that sinneth shall die.)

Point #4 You do not own or possess a Soul! You literally are a Soul! Your soul resides in your body, but the Soul is the real you.

Point #5 There is only one food that can satisfy or feed the Soul of a man. (Job 23:12-13) Gods word is the only food for the Soul. (Matthew 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread.)

Point #6 Souls were created with the potential for immortality. (II Timothy 1:10) Death for mankind was not the intent of the Creator. Yet, he availed mankind full freedom to choose life over death. (Genesis 2:17(

Point #8 No one has the power to save his own soul from death. (Psalms 22:29 All they that go down into dust shall bow before God; and none can save his own soul)

Point #9 There is only one who can restore a soul, Almighty God. (Psalms 23:3 The Lord is my shepherd; He restoreth my Soul)

Point #10 Only Almighty God can destroy a Soul. (Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul; but rather fear him who can destroy both body and soul in hell)

Point #11 Only you can lose your own soul. (Matthew 16:26 For what is profited a man if he should gain the whole world, and lose his own soul.)

Point #12 Our Human nature wars against our own souls!  ( I Peter 2:11 Dearly beloved, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the Soul.)

Point #13 Satan, our adversary is engaged in constant efforts to devour the souls of all mankind. (I Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the Devil, as a roaring Lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.)

Point #14 Every single soul that was ever created by God is accountable to God! (Romans 14:12 So then every one of us shall give an account of himself to God.

Point #15 As sinful creatures, we all require a conversion of our Soul. (Psalms 19:7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the Soul;) (Matthew 18:3 Except ye be converted, ye cannot see the kingdom of God)

Point #16 God is in the Soul Saving business. (Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord, shall be saved) (John 3;17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved.)

Point #17 Believe it or not, there is only one who can be your literal Soul Mate! Your spouse is your Life mate, and may even be a Spiritual mate; but God is the only true Soul mate for any soul; and that relationship can only be realized by being born again into a fulfilled relationship with him.)

Point #18 Soul Winners are wise and God loves it when we seek Souls to fill his harvest of souls. (Proverbs 11:30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.)

The human soul is distinct from the heart whereas the human soul needs atonement.

The soul is the part of us that is purified and protected by the truth and the work of the Holy Spirit.

The soul, as the life essence of the body, is removed at the time of physical death.

The spirit is the element in humanity that gives us the ability to have an intimate relationship with God.

Is it well with your Soul?  Perhaps you could use some Soul Food! More importantly, you may need a relationship with the Ultimate Soul Mate!

Fear Versus Faith

Fear versus Faith

Proverbs 1:7 says, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”

The Bible’s commands to “fear not” are plentiful and occur in a variety of contexts. As God’s people, we are not to be fearful. We have no reason to live in fear.

Yet, the fear of God keeps us from sin; while the fear of man leads to sin, and that is what we as Christians are to avoid.

The fear of things that occur in this world can only get us involved in a faithless snare.

Also, the biblical command throughout scripture “do not fear” does not negate the need for prudence and caution in this world. We are not to be cavalier, but prayerful anytime we are in the face of personal danger.

The Bible mentions two specific types of fear. The first type of fear is the “fear of the Lord.” This type of fear does not necessarily mean to be afraid of the Lord.

Conversely, the Bible is instructing us toward cultivating a reverential awe of God, and a reverence for His power, his majesty and glory.

However, the fear of the Lord is also having a proper respect for God’s wrath and anger. This is the "spirit of fear" mentioned in II Timothy 1:7 "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

The second type of fear is a detriment and it is a natural byproduct of living in a fallen world. This kind of fear can only be remedied by God and an abiding faith in his Word!

The key to overcoming fear, then, is total and complete trust in God. Trusting God is a refusal to give in to fear. It is a turning to God even in the darkest times and trusting Him to make things right. This trust comes only from knowing God and knowing that He is good; and will work all things out to our eventual good!

Faith and fear cannot exist together; because they are diametrically opposed to one another. As our deliverance from fear and worry is based entirely upon faith; then we need to learn how to grow our faith.

Faith is not something that we can magically produce in and of ourselves. Faith is a actually gift. Ephesians 2:8-9 conveys to us that Faith is a gift of God.

When that Faith is utilized by a believer, it activates fruit (or characteristics) in our lives by the function of the Holy Spirit.

Now, this is not to say that Christians will be exempt from fearful situations in this life. Far from it! Adversity and fearful things in life are often God's most effective tool to develop a stronger faith in us.

God always sustains each one of us through any fearful situations, and, as we learn to obey God's Word and allow it to saturate our thoughts, we find each trial becomes a stepping stone to a stronger and deeper faith.

But you may ask; how can we develop a faith that conquers all of our fears?

The Bible says in Romans 10:17, "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.”

The careful study of God's Word is of primary importance in developing a strong faith. God wants us to know Him and completely rely on His direction in our lives.

It is through the hearing, reading, and meditation in the Scriptures that we begin to experience the inner personal victory over fear that we must have in this evil world.

Therefore, if we abandon the reading and the hearing of God’s word, what should we naturally expect? (Answer: more of the worldly type of Fear!)

The Fear of the Lord can be defined as “the continual awareness that our loving heavenly Father is watching and evaluating everything we say, do, or think.

When we fully come to grips with the reality that Almighty God, who has all power, and can either deliver us from evil, or condemn us to Hell; it should cultivate a healthy Fear of him!

And with that reverential Fear of God, comes an inner Spiritual Wisdom that thrives on his “gift of Faith!”

The Last Days

The Last Days?

The term “Last Days” is a relevant term. When analyzing this term in relation to the present time, we must be mindful of how God views the process of time in our world.

God views “seasons of time” as well as chronos time, or the passing of hours, days, months and years. At present count, our world has experienced approximately 2,200,000 days.

Yet, time in world history has witnessed various “seasons of time.” Seasons of time have been appointed by God for his plans of providence to play themselves out.

In reality, our world entered its next to last “Season of Time” when Jesus departed from this world. The “Last Days” is a term that is conducive to the phase down of the present Season (Grace or church age) and the imminent return of Jesus to this world.

Hebrews 1:1-2 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

2. Hath in these “last days”spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things.

Jesus has been gone into Heaven now for about 701,000 days, but there is a dynamic in play in our time that has never existed before. The return of Israel to the Promised Land for the second time in world history foreshadows that Jesus analogy of the Fig Tree is now in focus on God’s Clock.

We are now about 26,000 days into that Last Days scenario! The Last Days of the Church Age are ticking down towards the end of its Season and the return of Jesus Christ!

Soon, as the Latter part of the Last Days concludes, the world will enter into its last Season of Time, known as the Day of the Lord, or the Kingdom Age.

The Five Major Signs of the Last Days:

1. The great falling away of the Laodicean Church age.

2. The remnant of Israel regathered into their land.

3. The city of Jerusalem becoming a burdensome stone.

4. The Partitioning of the promised land.

5. A systematic Convergence & Unity of World Religions.

5A. Emergence of Globalism

What is The Blessed Hope?

What exactly is the Blessed Hope?

Hope is a word that causes emotional optimism. We all thrive on Hope! So what about a “Blessed” Hope? The word blessed can mean “happy” or “beneficial”; for our hope is “blessed” in that Jesus’ return will be an amazing, joyful experience for the believer in Christ.

The idea of a “Blessed Hope” as used in the Bible has a special inference for Christians that are alive and remaining in the climactic “Last Days.”

Titus 2:11-13 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

12. Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

13. Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ;

This passage unmistakably identifies the “blessed hope” as the glorious appearing of Jesus Christ, our great God and Savior. The word hope does not communicate uncertainty, as in “I hope that something might occur”; rather, it is the glad assurance that something will absolutely take place.

The “blessed hope,” then, is the joyful assurance that God will extend His benefits to us and that Jesus Christ will return. We are waiting for this event now. Jesus said He would return (John 14:3), the angels said He would return (Acts 1:11), and the epistles say He will return. Jesus could come back at any time for His church, This event is called the rapture.

Should this blessed hope of Christ’s any-time return have an effect on the believer in Jesus Christ? John wrote, “All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as [Jesus] is pure” (1 John 3:3). The believer anticipating Christ’s blessed return will seek to live, in the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit, a life of purity.

Jesus’ imminent return should motivate the believer to live godly in an ungodly world. The word looking in Titus 2:13 is the key for that to happen. To be “looking” means that we live each day in continual anticipation and expectancy, with the conviction that Jesus could come at any time. The blessed hope brings us joy and cheers us through the trials of this world; but especially so as we see the "Day of the Lord" approaching!

The idea of the commencement of "Day of the Lord" which time wise is synonymous with the onset of the "Great Tribulation" can cause fear and anxiety for many people. The idea of the "Blessed Hope" and its relationship to the Rapture are intended to encourage every Christian in the Last Days!

2 Peter 3:10-12 But the "day of the Lord" will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

11. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

12. Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

The word "Hasting" in verse 12 of II Peter chapter 3 comes from the Greek word "Speudonatas," which infers that Last Days Christians who are alive at the time of the climax of the signs of the times, should take courage at those things coming to pass in the world; since in essence, it literally highlights the nearness of our Lord's Coming, and our Gathering unto him, Forever!

From A Donkey to A White Horse

From A Donkey to A White Horse

After visiting with Mary and Martha in Bethany, and raising their beloved brother Lazarus from the grave, Jesus, as was his custom avoided the curious crowds of Jews by retreating into the wilderness to a city called Ephraim.

But shortly thereafter Jesus instructed his disciples that the time had finally come for him to go up to Jerusalem. Avoiding publicity and maintaining a distance away from Jerusalem was something that Jesus had intentionally practiced throughout his public ministry.

But now just six days before the Passover, Jesus made the startling announcement that the time had come for him to actually go to Jerusalem. He even informed the disciples that the visit to the city was for the express purpose of fulfilling all the things concerning the Son of Man written by the prophets. Still they could not comprehend the gravity of the impending journey up to the Holy City. For in reality, the supernatural conflict of the ages was about to be fought on the earthly stage of Jerusalem!

Luke 18:31-34 Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished. For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on: And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again. And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken.

Sadly the disciples could not apprehend the reason that Jesus had decided to embark upon this sudden journey to Jerusalem. Surely, they were probably just much overjoyed at the mere prospect of sojourning in the Holy City during Passover, and never gave much thought to the consequences of that visitation. Indeed, when Jesus referred to the “Son of Man” being subjected to unspeakable brutality in the city, and conveyed the fact that in the aftermath of the weeks sojourn, he would be put to death in Jerusalem, they all without a single exception were unable to discern the spiritual impact of the timing of this visit, nor could they remotely understand the mission for which Jesus chose to go up to Jerusalem.

I Peter 1:19-21 conveys that Jesus knew his mission beforehand, and was steadfastly affixed on a course for its completion at this specific time. Jesus had invariable avoided this visit and delayed it until this very occasion. Indeed, just 3 days later, Jesus would be questioned by Pilate in this manner:

John 18:37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.

Jesus went up to Jerusalem on a mission! For every mission there is a way to get there! A successful mission on this trip to Jerusalem would fashion a way for all of humanity to travel to Heaven. With that in mind, Jesus gave instructions for two of his disciples to prepare the logistics for an event that has become prophetically typecast as the symbolic forerunner of “Jesus Triumphal Entry into the city of Jerusalem”.

There is recorded in the Gospels of Matthew 21:2-7, Mark 11:2-7 and yet again in Luke 19:29-34 an account of our Lords instruction for two of his disciples to obtain a colt for him to ride down into the city of Jerusalem. Their acquisition of that donkey is cloaked in symbolism, and quite literally bespeaks of another ride Jesus must have focused on as he contemplated his ride into Jerusalem.

Luke 19:29-34 And it came to pass, when he was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples, Saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither. And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him. And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them. And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the colt? And they said, The Lord hath need of him.

In this passage of scripture we find our Lord requiring the services of a donkey. How the Lord knew of the whereabouts of this particular colt is unknown. Perhaps in his travel in and around the vicinity of Bethany Jesus had encountered someone who had offered him the use of this colt.

Undoubetdly Jesus had traveled many miles on foot, and perhaps after some miraculous deed of love performed, someone offered him the use of an animal to ride to ease the strain from his many bone-weary travels. Whatever the case, it seems apparent that Jesus continued to travel on foot until this particular week. Now, at this point in ime he wished to ride.

It is important to note that This colt had never been ridden before, and perhaps Jesus foresaw the journey ahead, of not only traveling up the hills toward Jerusalem, but also of ascending the hill of Golgotha, and thus decided to lessen his physical burden in making the trip.

The fact that the colt had never been ridden before symbolizes the fact that the road that Jesus was going to travel to Jerusalem and eventually up to Calvary was a trip that had never been undertaken by anyone else before! He and he alone could make this ride!

And very likely Jesus could look down the corridors of time toward his second visitation to the city of Jerusalem, and thus decided to portray to the world the fact that he was coming humbly, as a Lamb into Jerusalem this time.

Perhaps he wished to demonstrate to Israel and the whole world that his mission to Jerusalem on this occasion was to offer his own body as the only means of traveling up to the New Jerusalem.

Perhaps Jesus wished to portray that his first visit to Jerusalem would be dramatically different from the next time he would travel down to Jerusalem! He must have held that scene steadfast in his heart and mind as he contemplated an approach to the city.

His imminent ride upon the back of a donkey into the city of Jerusalem had been foretold by the prophet Zechariah 700 years earlier.

Zechariah 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

So, we can deduce very clearly from Zechariah's prophecy that the rider of the donkey would humbly present himself as the prophesied King of Israel. The majestic grandstand for ancient Kings when they made an entry into any arena was to ride astride a stout white stallion in order to present themselves in all their glory and splendor.

History is replete with the artistically conveyed majesty of a mighty king sitting atop a glorious white horse after a fierce but victorious battle. Napoleon and George Washington are just some examples of the mighty men of battle who are personified as mighty warriors sitting upon a white horse. General Allenby of Great Britain reportedly dismounted from his horse before entering the city of Jerusalem after the British conquest of that city in World War I. General Allenby apparently sensed the significance of the true King of Israel having to submit himself to riding into Jerusalem on a donkey. He honored the memory of that donkey ride by Jesus by walking into the city, rather than riding victoriously into Jerusalem.

Jesus came riding upon a donkey because he came presenting himself as the lamb of Salvation. He came lowly, not as a conquering military general, but as the meek, just, and humble sacrificial Lamb of God. It was his mission. It was for a specific purpose. He accomplished that mission in his own death.

As I pay close attention to the direct detail of Jesus in the instructions that he gave to his disciples for acquiring this colt, I am struck by the specific command that he informed them to give the stable hosts where the colt was tied.

The disciples were told that if anyone asked why they were loosing the colt and why they were taking him to respond to them with this answer:

“The Lord Hath Need of Him”

Truly it must have been that the owner and workers of the estate where the donkey was kept knew the Lord! They surely knew that Jesus would soon require the use of the donkey. Apparently, Jesus had informed the owner-keepers of the donkey that he would send for the colt at an appointed time.

Upon the Disciples response to the owners of the colt, the owners forthwith had no more questions, and immediately allowed the two disciples to take the donkey away. There is a lesson of value in the owner's response, and in the Disciples answer.

If our Lord has need of anything we have, including our selves, we should submit it to his mission! The Lord had need of the donkey. If the Lord can use a donkey, can he not use you and me? Isn't it wonderful that the owners of the donkey did not refuse Jesus the use of the donkey?

Thus it came to be that Jesus Christ had the use of a donkey to ride into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday. That event has been cast in glorious splendor for all these many centuries and throughout the coming ages.

The Triumphal Entry depicts beautifully the mission of Christ, and it stands as a wondrous reminder of the day when Jesus will have need of another animal to ride into Jerusalem. This time however he will have need of the most majestic and valiant White Horse the world has ever seen.

This time he will not be bone-weary and struggling up towards Golgotha's Hill. This time his heart will not be burdened with the weight of offering himself as a sacrificial Lamb for lost sinners. That victory is forever won!

This time he will come as a conquering King! This time he will come to wage war on a Christ-rejecting world that has aligned itself fore-square with the armies of Antichrist, all of whom oppose his right to reign in Jerusalem!

Revelation 19:11-14 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a “White Horse”; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon “white horses”, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

As I listen to God's beckoning instructions within my heart and watch closely the signs of his imminent return, I can't help but reflect on the scene at the stable-place where the donkey was kept for the Lord.

While watching the unfolding signs surrounding the re-gathered nation of Israel and intently watching the gathering storm clouds over the city of Jerusalem, I cannot help but sense a distinct command being issued at this very moment near the portals of Heaven. In the pit of my soul it seems that I can hear a call going forth from the cavalry of Angels assembled near Heavens stable-gate. Two angels have been sent to secure a White Horse.

In another echo, I hear a question…”Why are you taking the White Horse”? And in the most dramatic tone the answer echoes back in my ears, an answer reverberating around the halls of Heaven in anticipation of the coming Day of the Lord.

“The Lord Hath Need of Him”

And at any moment now, I expect to be caught away to meet the Lord in the air. Then in glorious array he will gather together the armies of the saints of the ages, and after a brief interlude in Heaven, the gates shall swing open wide, and we shall all come riding forth on white horses behind him.

Jude 1:14-15 Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

Revelation 19:14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon “white horses”, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

It is at that prodigious moment in time that Jesus Christ will ride forth at the front of his heavenly army leading them down into the direction of the city of Jerusalem. After demolishing the armies of Antichrist that Satan has recruited to confront him on the field of battle, he will prepare to ride once again into the city of Jerusalem.

It was for this occasion that Jesus was born into the world. It was for the this occasion that Jesus announced unto his Disciples his return mission to the world. And it is for this mission that he has need of a White Horse!

The victorious processional parade into Jerusalem will find Jesus Christ riding atop a White Horse, victorious over death, victorious in battle, and riding with the full regalia of a Mighty Kings Majesty into the city of God. The Triumphal Entry of Jesus Christ will herald in the reality of a millennium of righteousness. Jesus Christ will rule with a rod of iron and his law shall go forth to all nations from his throne situated on Mount Zion in Jerusalem!

Micah 4:1-3 But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the Lordshall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it. And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

“All Hail to the Mighty King” who comes riding riding unto Jerusalem, He has visited us once before riding on a dusty old donkey, but he shall return the second time in honor and valor riding upon a mighty White Horse!
