Why Isn’t the Bible More Time-Date Specific About the Rapture Season?

Why Isn’t the Bible More Time-Date-Specific About the Rapture Season?

God, in his great wisdom, as the Commander in Chief of the armies in Heaven, chose not to reveal a specific date-time for the Rapture of the Church for a variety of reasons!

In his great “mystery plans of the ages,” He intentionally withheld it from being published anywhere in his Divine word. Albeit, Psalms 102:13 does indicate that the time for the Lord to favor Zion is a “Set Time.”

Israel aside though, the specific time for the Rapture of the Church is actually highly classified in Heaven as top secret information for at least two particular reasons.

You may recall from Jesus Olivet Discourse, concerning the Last Days and his imminent return to this world; that Jesus stated to his Disciples the following proclamation:

Matthew 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

This highly classified “Mystery of the Ages” information was even restrained from Jesus earthly knowledge.

It was only after Jesus fulfilled his earthly mission, was resurrected and returned to Heaven, that Jesus was proclaimed worthy by the Father to unseal further classified information relating to the future.

And yet, the time-date for the Rapture was still kept sealed up as top secret information! Why?

# 1. God has intentionally kept this valuable and time sensitive piece of information from the spying eyes of Satan. It prevents Satan from knowing the time, thereby causing him tremendous strategic and logistical problems, all throughout Church age history; as to how and when to plot his strategy to present his Antichrist for universal exaltation.

# 2. God also well knew the natural tendency of mankind to procrastinate. If the Church had foreknew the date of the rapture, it would likely not have spread the Gospel throughout the world with the greatest sense of urgency. And make no mistake about it; God wants his servants busy seeking the Lost!

So, as Christians, we need to rest in the certainty of the Lords salvation; and be ever diligent in being busy about sharing the Good News of the Gospel.

And even as we labor together in building up the kingdom of Christ; and utilizing the patience of Christ for the Lost; we need never be ignorant of the signs pertaining to the Lords imminent return, for the season of his return is at hand!

In the meantime, even in this dark and evil world, wherein Satan is ever attacking and plotting his ascendancy, we have a “Blessed Hope.”

For us as Christians and for the Church in general, that Hope is the “Appearing of Jesus” to catch us all away to be with him forever!
